1. Technician vetting

Every technician applying to the platform completes an application that includes identity verification, a background check, a valid driver's license, and proof of vehicle insurance. Applications are reviewed individually by our operations team before an account is ever activated.

2. Credential verification

Technicians must upload current EMT or equivalent first aid certifications, which we verify against the issuing body before approval and re-verify at renewal. Expired credentials automatically suspend a technician's ability to go on duty until updated documentation is reviewed.

3. Insurance requirements

Active technicians must carry professional liability coverage with limits of at least $1M and name WITs as an additional insured, alongside required auto insurance. Proof of coverage is collected at onboarding and at every policy renewal.

4. Scope of practice

Technicians operate strictly within first-aid-level care as defined by applicable OSHA first aid guidelines. The in-app triage screen routes any case with critical indicators to 911 before a technician is ever dispatched, and technicians are trained to escalate immediately if a case exceeds first-aid scope on site.

5. Incident reporting

Every consultation produces a structured, signed aftercare report, and any safety incident — clinical, behavioral, or vehicular — can be reported in-app by employees, supervisors, or technicians. Reports are triaged by our safety team within one business day, with removal from the platform available as an outcome.

6. Ratings and quality monitoring

Post-consultation ratings and structured feedback tags feed directly into dispatch eligibility, so consistently low-rated technicians stop receiving priority dispatches. Patterns of negative feedback trigger manual review by our operations team.

7. Reporting a concern

If you experience or observe unsafe conduct connected to a WITs consultation, contact safety@wits.example with the consultation reference number. For anything presenting immediate danger, call 911 first and notify us afterward.
